Why Is My Vehicle’s Floor Wet? Common Causes and Solutions

Finding a wet floor in your vehicle can be alarming, but it’s a common issue with various possible causes. Identifying the root of the problem quickly is essential to prevent mold, odors, and potential damage to your car’s interior.

A common cause of water leaks are leaking doors or window seals. Worn-out rubber seals around your car’s doors and windows can degrade, allowing rainwater to seep inside. The solution is to inspect the seals and replace them if they’re damaged to restore a watertight barrier.

Another common cause of water leaks is clogged or damaged sunroof drains. Sunroof drains are designed to carry water away, but debris can clog them, leading to leaks inside the car. To fix this, clear the drains using compressed air and if necessary, replace the damaged drains.  If the problem doesn’t resolve or appears more involved, our shop has an internal rain system that allows us to thoroughly test and address it properly.
