Why the Cheapest Auto Body Estimate Isn’t Always the Best

After an accident, it’s natural to want quick answers and a fast price. But the reality is that no repair shop can fully understand what your vehicle needs until it’s properly taken apart. Much of today’s collision damage is hidden behind bumpers, panels, and structural components—damage that simply isn’t visible during an initial walk-around.
Some shops keep estimates low by skipping steps, taking shortcuts, or not fully following manufacturer repair procedures. That can mean missing hidden damage, reusing parts that should be replaced, or ignoring required steps that help your vehicle perform as designed.
A proper repair starts with a complete teardown and detailed inspection so all damage is
identified and repaired correctly. Until that process happens, any estimate is only a starting point—and the true value of a repair comes from doing it right, not doing it fast or cheap.
